Former NC Senator (D) and Presidential candidate John Edwards has compared himself to Franklin D. Roosevelt, noting that they both are/were strong advocates for the poor. He often speaks of how there are "two Americas." One for the rich and another for the poor. He favors taxing the rich for the benefit of the poor. It doesn't matter that the rich already pay the vast majority of taxes in this nation and that the bottom 50% of income earners pay basically no taxes.
The truth is that Edwards is an ambulance chasing attorney who has amassed a fortune by suing major corporations and small businesses. He is a filthy rich elitist who postures as a working man and lives in a 28,000 square foot mansion and pays $400 for a haircut! His most recent luxury $400 haircut took place during a campaign trip here to Iowa. Yes folks, he's a man of the people with an uncanncy connection to us "common folk." He'll make everything better by increasing taxes on those who are already overtaxed and reducing taxes on those who do not pay taxes. Make sense to you? I wonder if it would make sense to FDR.

I'm going to have to ponder on this a little while... because I've been one of the "poor"...and paid taxes. I've also seen the tax breaks the rich get. No, I do not like Edwards...but the tax system is over-all, very messed up.
I do not believe one person can change the tax system. I do not believe a politician should ever make campaign promises, in general, because it takes more than just one person to change things in congress.
I'd listen to the politician that says..."this is what I'll lobby to change"... or "this is what I will work on getting changed"... or "this is what I believe needs to change".
Edwards is the new FDR??? That is comical at best!! This isn't your father's Democratic party! The democratic party has been taken over by far left anti american socialists. Need proof. Take a look at JFK's fiscal policy speeches. You would swear you where reading a speech that Ronald Reagan would have gave. Need more proof. Take a look at the 1963 communist party manifesto. Virtually every policy in their manifesto is a policy that the democratic party endorses today. Democrats, do a little research and you will see what I am talking about. It may get you to rethink you political party alliance.
