Whose Line Is This?

"The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more."

Was it the father of Communism, Karl Marx, who said this? Was it the leader of the October Revolution and first head of the Russian Soviet Socialist Republic, Vladimir Lenin?

Nope. Neither. But it was a Communist. Her name is Michelle Obama.

Jimmy Carter's Latest Disaster

Jimmy Carter was elected President of the United States 32 years ago and we are STILL paying the price. Carter's presidency is most remembered for the Iran hostage crisis, record-high inflation rates, the OPEC oil embargo, gas rationing and the sense of dread, despair and pessimism that spread like the plague throughout this great country. By most intelligent accounts, the Carter presidency was a disaster characterized by massive failure.

Despite pleas from the State Department and members of Congress, Jimmy Carter is spending today sitting down with the leader of Hamas, a well-known terror organization which openly advocates the destruction of Israel, one of America's staunchest allies. Furthermore, Hamas is responsible for the murders of 26 Americans and scores of Israeli civilians. Both the U.S. and Israel officially designate Hamas as a terrorist organization and refuse to negotiate with it.

So what good can come from a former President of the United States negotiating with the leader of a murderous, terrorist organization? NONE. Carter's visit is so naive and ill-conceived that more than 50 congressman have urged Carter, in writing, to abandon his trip to Syria, where the Hamas leader lives in exile. Carter's very presence with the Hamas leader lends credibility and prestige to the terrorist leader's cause and grants recognition and political sanction to terrorism. This debacle further underscores the naivete and dangerous views held by liberals when dealing with the enemies of freedom and liberty. Carter and his fellow peaceniks just don't get it! Negotiating with an enemy who is willing to strap explosive-laden vests to women and children only displays weakness. In the ongoing War on Terror, weakness is an attribute that the United States and her allies can ill afford to display! Nevertheless, while America's brave warriors are spilling their blood and guts to defeat terrorism, a former President of the United States is undermining their efforts with his credibility and prestige (or lack thereof).

In case you're wondering, Carter's "negotiation" with an enemy of the U.S. and her allies could easily fall under the definition of treason, seeing as how he is knowingly violating U.S. foreign policy and providing aid and comfort to the enemy. But don't expect him to be charged by the Justice Department. A move like that has no precedent.

Obama Bashes Guns, Religion and Small-Town America!

Small town Americans are bitter and angry and cling to their guns and religion as a result. At least, that's how elitist, wanna-be-president Barack Obama sees it. He sees traditions and values that are passed on from generation to generation as nothing more than the result of bitterness according to a speech he gave to a group of rich, California donors.

Obama dug himself deeper by defending his remarks with, "I didn't say it as well as I should have, because the truth is these traditions that are passed on from generation to generation, those are important.

Small-town America is not reacting well to Obama's snobby remarks. We are the folks who make this country great. It's not the rich snobs of the world who make this country what it is; it's the firemen, the policemen, the teachers, the mechanics, the stay-at-home moms who make this country succeed. Hard-working middle-Americans are offended by these condescending remarks and they damn well should be. Fathers who pass down to their sons the family tradition of the 2nd Amendment, hunting, shooting and fishing are not doing so out of "bitterness." Parents who teach their children to place their faith in Jesus Christ and turn to him in time of need are not doing so out of "bitterness."

Barack Obama claims to be the candidate who will end class and race warfare, yet his conscious thoughts and statements betray him! His true colors are shining through and revealing him for what he really is... a rich, elitist snob who is completely out of touch with "middle-Americans" and the things they hold dear to themselves and their families.

For my part, I love and place my faith in Jesus Christ because He is my savior. I collect and shoot guns because it is a hobby I enjoy. I have shared my love of guns with friends and family and the importance of the 2nd Amendment because it's an important tradition to many Americans. No, Senator Obama, none of what makes me who I am is a result of bitterness. One thing that does indeed make me angry and bitter is when a limousine liberal, who's never had a real job, looks down his elitist nose at me and my life!

What You Didn't Hear on the Evening News

NAVY SEAL POSTHUMOUSLY AWARDED CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR

On 8 April, President George W. Bush posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor to Navy SEAL Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael A. Monsoor for heroic actions above and beyond the call of duty during combat operations in Ramadi, Iraq.

On 29 Sep. 2006, the 25 year old Monsoor was providing security for a sniper's nest when an enemy fragmentation grenade hit his chest and bounced to the floor. Positioned near the only exit, Monsoor could have easily escaped harm. Yet, without hesitation, he threw himself onto the grenade, using his body to absorb the blast. Monsoor's actions saved the lives of eight Iraqi soldiers and his fellow SEAL teammates.

One of Monsoor's teammates put it this way, "Mikey looked death in the face that day and said, 'You cannot take my brothers. I will go in their stead.'

In his remarks today, President Bush characterized PO2 Monsoor as an unlikely candidate for SEALS. As a child, he suffered from asthmatic attacks and coughing fits that routinely landed him in the hospital. Yet, he resolved to wean himself of his inhaler, strengthening his lungs by challenging his siblings to swimming contests. This dedication eventually led to Monsoor passing the ultimate test of mental and physical strength and endurance... SEAL training (known as BUDS).

I'd like to personally add that Petty Officer Monsoor and others like him exemplify what it TRULY means to be a patriot! While college students and 'Code Pink' protest America's warriors and burn the American Flag and Presidential candidates refuse to wear a simple flag lapel pin, rough and ready men like this Navy SEAL provide the very blanket of freedom under which we all sleep at night. And they do it with blood! God bless you Petty Officer Monsoor. Fair winds and following seas, shipmate!
