But no, it was a press conference with Rudy Giuliani, Arnold Schwarzenegger and John McCain. Just now, the former NYC Mayor and current CA Governor officially endorsed John McCain for President of the United States.
Why did it sound like an Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi press conference? Well because we had three liberal, misguided Republicans talking about things such as "global warming", "carbon credits" and "saving the environment." There was little, if any, talk about lowering the tax burden on the American people. There was no talk about protecting the true definition of marriage. There was no talk about family values. These three liberals with an "R" next to their name support gay marriage, buy into the "global warming" scam, support abortion and above all else... they are for open borders! None of the three gives a damn about defending America's borders from invasion by illegal aliens! Today's press conference sounded more like three liberal democrats stroking each other's egos rather than three true Republicans.
So this is how John McCain reaches out to the conservatives in the Republican Party? A man who was on the short list of John Kerry's potential running mates in 2004 dares to suggest that he's the man to lead the Republican Party to victory in 2008?
It's both laughable and frightening at the same time that unless Americans pay closer attention, we could very well see a liberal running against another liberal in the '08 general election. I for one, do not want to find myself in the position of voting for the lesser of two evils in November. My fellow conservatives... don't let yourselves get left behind!
Mitt Romney in '08!

"John McCain is Bob Dole minus the charm, conservatism and youth." -- Ann Coulter
"The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing." -- Albert Einstein

And The Race Tightens
With news today of John Edwards and Rudy Giuliani dropping out of the race, the presidential candidate field is tightening. Giuliani's strategy of skipping early states to focus his efforts solely on Florida was a miserable failure. And while Mike Huckabee remains steadfastly in the race, his campaign appears to be all but finished with no wins since Iowa and a distant third place finish in Florida. So the democrat race is down to Obama v. Clinton and the republican race is essentially down to McCain v. Romney.
While I'm not entirely comfortable with urging my readers to vote for one candidate in particular, I feel compelled to suggest that America would be better off pitting a CONSERVATIVE Republican versus the democrat nominee, be it Clinton or Obama. Hence, I am hoping to see Romney pull off some big wins next week during "super Tuesday." Frankly, I do not want to find myself in the position of having to vote for one liberal over another in November and if McCain were to win the GOP nod, that's exactly where we would find ourselves.
Don't get me wrong, I respect the hell out of Senator McCain. His lifelong service to our country as a Naval aviator, Congressman and Senator speaks volumes to his patriotism. But if anyone doubts my assessment of McCain as being a fairly liberal Republican, do some research. His political stance can be summed with his three most recent pieces of legislation. McCain/Kennedy, McCain/Feingold and McCain/Lieberman. These bills consisted of the illegal immigration amnesty bill as well as a 50 cent tax increase on gasoline. Hey folks, it already costs WAY too much to fill up at the gas station without a 50 cent increase on federal gasoline tax! And we all know how America feels about granting amnesty to illegal aliens who are bankrupting many American hospitals, schools and cities. Remember when the Senate switchboard was overloaded with calls from angry voters when Senators voted on the amnesty package? That was the McCain/Kennedy bill.
So for my readers like "Undecided in Colorado" who will vote on "Super Tuesday", I hope you will give consideration to my words. Do some research into McCain and Romney. I think you will find that Mitt Romney is clearly the best choice to take on the mental disorder we all know as LIBERALISM. You don't cure cancer with cancer, folks. Vote conservative... vote Romney!

For The "Undecideds"
Recently, I received a message from a reader who referred to himself as "Undecided in Colorado." He noted that after reading my blog, he was unable to decipher for whom and what I stood for, that he was only able to for whom and what I am against. Honestly, I think if one takes a good look at this blog, it's pretty clear what I stand for as well as what I stand against. But I appreciate his message and took it to heart. While my "negative campaigning" (as he put it) will not cease when it comes to liberals who are systematically trying to wreck this country, this blog will begin to focus more effort on convincing the "undecideds" why they should vote for and support the man pictured above.
I was part of the "Draft Fred Thompson" campaign and supported him long before he even entered the race. I felt then and feel now that Fred Thompson was the best Reagan Republican in the race. Yet sadly, he has capitulated due to lack of support. I feel that Thompson's campaign never really took off frankly because he wasn't aggressive enough in convincing America that he wanted the job. I hope he will be considered as a running mate for Vice President because he is a patriot who has always served this country well.
With that aside, I am now fully behind Gov. Mitt Romney for President of the United States! Here's why...
-- Romney recognizes the deadly threat facing America known as The War on Terror. He realizes that a strong national defense is vital to our security and that America cannot retreat from the enemy! Romney realizes, unlike his democrat counterparts, that the enemy cannot be appeased and bargained with, that the enemy must be killed or captured and that America must be ever vigilant and offensive to protect herself from Islamic terrorists who will stop at nothing to destroy our way of life.
-- Romney has a clear, positive vision for improving America's economy. His plan includes reducing the corporate tax rate. Few people realize that America has the highest corporate tax rate of any industrialized nation in the world (35% compared to 30% or lower in other countries). No matter how you feel about "big business", they are the companies who employ Americans and make the products we need and want for our daily lives. Tax cuts for corporations and small business encourages growth and employment. And more than any other candidate, Romney is well schooled in economic growth.
-- Romney's message for America is positive and optimistic. While the democrats constantly spew messages of doom and gloom regarding America's current and future position internationally, Romney realizes the United States is the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world for a reason. It is NOT because of our government to be sure! He recognizes that America's prosperity comes from The People. We are what make this country great, not the laws passed by a far-removed group of aristocrats in Washington, D.C.
My list of reasons for supporting Gov. Romney could go on and on. I encourage my readers to do some research of their own. Look into Romney's record of achievements and I think you'll be impressed. For me, the bottom line is that Romney doesn't simply make empty promises of "change" without experience to back it up. He's not a power hungry politician's wife who has maneuvered his whole life for the most powerful position in America. Mitt Romney reflects my values which place importance on family, morals, patriotism and smaller government. Come Nov. '08, he will be getting my vote!

The Truth About "Assault Weapons"
Every single one of the Democrat candidates running for President supports re-instating a federal "assault weapons ban." Liberal gun grabbers generally know absolutely nothing about firearms, but they're damn good at telling lies to frighten the American public into believing the trash they spew out of their mouths.
Defend your rights! Don't fall victim to liberal lies! Join the NRA and/or Gun Owners of America and vote conservative! Or before you know it, once again, the Democrats will label your shotgun or pistol an "assault weapon."

John Edwards Must Have Slept a LOT During Law School
So let me get this straight, Senator. Internet access is a right, not a privilege. Citizenship for illegals who have worked in this country for 5 years is a right, not a privilege. A college education is a right, not a privilege (I guess my right to free college was violated.) Yet owning a handgun is a privilege??
Only ONE of those shotgun questions is truly protected by the Bill of Rights in the U.S. Constitution! Maybe you've heard of it... it's called the 2nd Amendment!

The Mexicans Are Coming!
Reported today, Mexican lawmakers are planning a cross-border meeting with Arizona legislators to discuss illegal immigration. It seems Mexico is having problems with illegal immigrants RETURNING to Mexico en masse and the Mexican government says it cannot afford to house or feed so many self-deporting illegals from the U.S.
Arizona recently took action to solve its illegal immigrant problem... action that the federal government has been unwilling to fulfill. Arizona is cracking down on employers who knowingly hire illegals. The voter approved legislation, which went into effect on the first of the year, lessens the economic incentive for illegal immigrants in Arizona.
By all accounts, the plan is working exceedingly well. Not only is Arizona seeing fewer and fewer illegals coming into the state, but the ones who are there are beginning to deport themselves to other states, or in many cases, back to Mexico! Illegals in the state are urging their friends and families back in Mexico to stay put thanks to the crackdown.
More proof that the plan is working is the news today that Mexican lawmakers will travel to Arizona to ask that the crackdown be stopped. It would seem Mexico is having a hard time swallowing its own medicine! Of course, the LEGAL American citizens in Arizona have obviously had enough of the flood of illegals into their state, so they likely won't stand for foreign lawmakers trying to tell them how to run their state. But Mexico has some nerve thinking it can tell the United States what to do. It's enough to make this blogger furious. It should make us all furious! I say screw 'em! Let Mexico choke on its own problems!

"Victory" For Clinton in Michigan
I would like to take a few moments to congratulate the Hillary Clinton campaign on its rousing victory over "uncommitted" in yesterday's Michigan primary. Clinton walked away with 55% of the vote, while "uncommitted" got 40%.
Clinton's campaign manager reveled in yesterday's victory, proclaiming that "tonight, Michigan Democrats spoke loudly." He's right! Basically 2/5 of Michigan Democrats shouted from the rooftops saying that they'd rather vote for NOBODY than Hillary Clinton! Yeah, I'd say they sent a pretty strong message.
So once again, congratulations to Mrs. Bill Clinton for a hard-earned win in Michigan and congrats also to NOBODY for an impressive second place showing! Well done.

Back- Door Tax on the Middle Class-- IOWA
Iowa Gov. Chet Culver is asking lawmakers to DOUBLE the deposit on bottles and cans to pay for a new state "environmental program." Iowans, who currently pay a 5 cent deposit on beverages, would suddenly find themselves paying 10 cents. Under this new plan, instead of having the full amount refunded at recycling centers, consumers would receive only an 8 cent refund. The remaining 2 cents would be split between the retailer and the state!! The retailer's penny would cover the cost of handling returned bottles and cans while the state's penny would supposedly fund the environmental program.
See where this is going, folks? This is nothing short of a back-door tax increase on Iowans. Iowa's government, like a handful of other states, already attempts to FORCE us to recycle by imposing a deposit on beverages. But at least under current rules the consumer can get that deposit back in full. Under the new proposal, even if Iowans choose to recycle their beverage containers, they will pay an additional 2 cents that is non-refundable!
And what really is the goal of all this? Could it be that our liberal lawmakers are attempting to cash in on the GLOBAL WARMING SCAM at the expense of Iowans who already pay higher than average state and property taxes?? Isn't it funny that no specific details were released regarding this so-called "environmental program?"
Honestly, this is yet more proof that liberalism is a disease! In their never-ending quest for more taxpayer $$$, liberal Iowa lawmakers are coming up with more and more creative ways to rape Iowans of their hard-earned cash! Don't stand for this crap... I know I won't! Contact your lawmakers and stand up for yourself!

Regarding Iraq -- The Silence is Deafening
I find myself wondering whatever happened to the left's constant protests about the Iraq War, or what they so frequently referred to as "a quagmire." Months ago, Clinton, Obama and Edwards barely let a minute pass where they weren't attempting to convince the American people that the war was a disaster that was failing to achieve desired results. Remember, just a few months ago some lefties referred to our troops as "conquerors" and "war criminals." Americans were dying senselessly and full retreat was the only workable strategy.
Well here we are with a new Commanding General and a new strategy. Iraqi tribes, tired of the senseless slaughter of their own by Al Qaeda, have joined forces with the United States Military. Iraq is finally taking responsibility for their own security and are fighting back against terror. U.S. casualties are down up to 80%. Iraqi civilian casualties are down 70%. Al Qaeda in Iraq has essentially been dismantled as an effective fighting force. By any and all objective measures, the tide has turned on radical jihadists in Iraq and the enemy is taking a serious ass kicking!
So where is the media now? Where are the reports from the New York Times, the L.A. Times and the Cleveland Plain Dealer on the major success in Iraq. Why now are Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards so silent on the subject? Could it be that the Left and the Democrat Presidential candidates are disheartened by GOOD NEWS? Could it be that Clinton, Edwards and Obama can no longer point their finger at the American people and say, "I told ya so!" Could it be that they don't want to eat the massive plate of humble pie placed before them and admit they were DEAD WRONG to undermine the war effort?
The simple fact is the liberals in this country have been salivating for America to LOSE the War on Terror... a war that was brought to our doorsteps even long before 9/11. And the only reason for their lust for defeat is because a "dumb, Texas cowboy" is in charge and not them! Liberalism is a mental disorder, folks. This disorder is dangerous for America's security and national interests. The only treatment for this disorder is your vote and your voice!! Please think long and hard about that between now and Nov. 2008.

What The Gun Haters Didn't Tell You Today
9 JAN 2008
Charlie Merrill was in the checkout line at Buck's IGA grocery store in Indianapolis when 19 year old Dwain Smith came into the store, pulled a gun and put it to the head of an employee during an attempted robbery. That's when Charlie, 51 years old, pulled his legally concealed firearm and ordered the would-be robber to drop his gun.
The tables having been turned on him, the robber dropped his weapon, put his hands behind his head and waited for police to arrive while Merrill, a Right to Carry permit holder, held him at gunpoint. When officers arrived, Smith was taken into custody and Merrill went on his way.
To those who say armed citizens don't deter crime and only add fuel to the fire of gun violence... try telling that to the employees and shoppers at Buck's IGA in Indianapolis!

Brett Favre's Wife to Take Over as Packers' Quarterback!
In a news conference, Deanna Favre announced she will be the starting QB for the Packers this coming Sunday. Deanna asserts that she is qualified to be starting QB because she has spent the past 16 years married to Brett while he played QB for the Packers. During this period of time she became familiar with the definition of a corner blitz, and is now completely comfortable with other terminology of the Packers offense. A survey of Packers fans shows that 50% of those polled supported the move.
Does this sounds idiotic and unbelievable to you? Well, Hillary Clinton makes the same claims as to why she is qualified to be President and 50% of Democrats polled agreed. She has never run a City, County, or State. When told Hillary Clinton has experience because she has 8 years in the White House, Dick Morris stated 'so has the pastry chef.'
