ACORN -- Fraud, Abuse & How America Pays The Price
So what is ACORN? What does it do and why have we heard so much about it lately on the news? The Association of Community Organization for Reform Now (ACORN) is a non-profit community of mostly black, low-income families that addresses housing, elections, income and other "social issues." As a non-profit organization, it receives Federal funding and is expected to be nonpartisan and non-political.
However, the truth is, this radical organization has openly expressed its support for Barack Obama, maintains an affiliation with a political action committee that is closely associated with liberal Democrats, and is actively involved with massive voter fraud throughout the nation.
ACORN can be linked directly to America's current mortgage/economic crisis and the $700 billion congressional bailout we all love to hear about. ACORN has both bullied banks and lending organizations, big and small, and pressured Congress to make home mortgages and loans more readily available to low-income families. Attorneys for ACORN have threatened to sue and/or boycott lending organizations if they failed to abandon traditional lending practices that require proof of income and/or down payments. Along with pressure from Congress, banks and other lenders began issuing mortgages without proof of income and/or down payments to high-risk, low-income families. Mortgages that those families otherwise would never have qualified for. And now that the bubble has burst and these mortgages are in default, you and I get to pay for these atrocities with our tax dollars. Americans who work hard and pay their bills and budget their personal income, are paying dearly for the outright fraud and abuses of groups like ACORN and the Congress.
But the outrage doesn't stop there. ACORN goes a step further in defrauding the American people. This organization also has its hands dirty with voter fraud. In Ohio, in 2004, four ACORN employees were indicted by a federal grand jury for submitting false voter registration forms.
In November 2006, four ACORN employees were indicted in Kansas City, MO. for voter fraud registration.
In 2007, five ACORN employees were sentenced to jail time for voter fraud.
And more recently, a Las Vegas, NV. ACORN office was raided by the FBI after more allegations of voter fraud arose. I saw a tv interview today with an Ohio woman who was pursued and harassed by ACORN employees asking her to register to vote. When responding that she had already registered, they continued to pursue her, demanding that she "just sign here" to register again. It seems that ACORN employees are paid based on how many registrations they collect, whether they're legal or illegal. The woman in this particular interview ended up having registered to vote SIX TIMES and has since been contacted by the feds, being told that she will have to re-register LEGALLY and that she may not be able to vote at all this election cycle for legal concerns.
And this is not an isolate incident. In Las Vegas, feds discovered the entire Dallas Cowboys football team as having registered to vote in an ACORN office. In Missouri, officials have identified about 100 duplicate registrations and probably 280 addresses that don't exist. One Ohio man was discovered to have been registered to vote over 70 times! ACORN even registers dead people to vote! And let's keep in mind here that ACORN, which is supposed to be nonpartisan and non-political, is very closely associated with Democrats and pressures voters to vote Democrat. There is even speculation that Barack Obama did legal work for ACORN before becoming an Illinois senator. I will personally go so far as to say that the liberals are doing everything in their power to cheat the American people and steal this election! They have had their taste of power over the last two years and are hungry for more and they are determined that nothing will stop them from acquiring it... neither the law nor the American people!
So Democrats have been in charge of Congress for two years now. And with George Bush being a "lame duck" president, the libtards and Democrats in this country have become drunk with power. So take a moment and examine where this country has gone in the last two years. Thanks to the Democrats in Congress and the efforts of liberal groups like ACORN, this country's economy is going right down the shitter! America faces an economic crisis the likes of which we have not seen since the Great Depression. Now imagine the consequences of having an empty suit like Barack Obama in the White House to "fix" this mess. A mess that he played a major role in causing. America is actually very close to electing the Senate's most liberal politician to govern over an economic crisis caused by liberal policies. That's sort of like asking the fox to guard the hen house!

Communism 101

What Senator Biden conveniently neglects to mention, is that the wealthiest 5% of Americans pay nearly 80% of the taxes in this country. And he dares to say it is unpatriotic of them to not want to be taxed further?! The so-called top 5% comprises not only super wealthy individuals, but also corporations, big and small, and small businesses who employ the American worker. Higher taxes for them would trickle down to the American worker and consumer in the form of job cuts, reductions in benefits, and increased prices on goods and services. And what on Earth entitles a lazy, able-bodied bum who refuses to work and milks the social security system to a tax cut when he doesn't even pay taxes?? That's the Obama-Biden plan. Robin Hood economics. Punish the successful and reward the lazy.
It's all too easy for most Americans, those of us in the lower 95%, to sit back and say, "Yeah... tax the rich, it won't affect me... Barack Obama promises me a tax cut!" But a few moments of clarity and deeper thinking easily reveal the truth behind what Obama and Biden are promoting... redistribution of wealth. Communism 101.

Missouri State Senator Chuck Graham, the "old pal" who Joe Biden told to stand and be recognized, is paralyzed from the waist down and confined to a wheelchair!! It's funny that the media BLASTED Dan Quayle for misspelling "potatoes", yet totally ignores Joe Biden's utter lack of attention to detail in this case. Imagine for a moment the coverage this would have received had it been John McCain or Sarah Palin making such a misstep instead of Joe Biden.
I guess Joe had it right when he said Hillary Clinton would have made a far better choice for V.P. on the democrat ticket.

Let's Cut Through the BS
Lately, I've been hearing a lot of B.S. from Barack Obama stating that he will not raise taxes on the American people. He plainly states he only plans to raise taxes on the top 5% of American wage earners. To some, that is comforting to hear. But although I'm one of the 95% who Obama says he won't tax, I've seen through his smokescreen. So let's analyze this a little bit further...
- The wealthiest 5% of Americans pay roughly 80% of the government's tax income. The rest of us pay significantly less, with many Americans paying no taxes. So how would Obama give those who don't pay taxes a tax break? Simple... he would cut them a rebate check on taxes they don't even pay. Redistribution of wealth = COMMUNISM.
- A tax increase on the top 5% would in fact affect the other 95%. If you buy stuff at Wal-Mart, Macy's, or the grocery store, if you put gasoline in your car, pay utility bills or just plain "consume" in the American economy, those tax hikes on those "big, bad corporations" WILL be passed onto you, the consumer.
-Obama supports a tax on profit from all home sales. If you sell your home and make a profit, you would pay 28% of your gain in taxes.
- Obama supports increasing the capital gains tax. America already has the highest capital gains tax rate of any industrialized nation. Increasing capital gains taxes would result in more and more companies outsourcing and moving overseas where they see increased profit resulting from lower taxes. More companies moving overseas means FEWER jobs here at home.
- Obama wishes to restore the inheritance tax that President Bush repealed. Families have lost small businesses, farms, ranches and homes that have been in their families for generations because they couldn't afford the taxes. Inheritance taxes are indeed a double tax. The government has already collected taxes on a family farm or business and then Obama would want to further tax said property when YOU inherit it. That's just flat wrong!
These are the fact folks. Fact that I'm sure my readers already know. What kills me is the thousands and thousands of voters out there who continue to drink the Obama-flavored Kool-Aid and fall for his snake-oil lies and half-truths. Raising taxes on anyone during a shaky economy is a BAD move. Raising taxes on anyone for being successful is wrong. What Barack Obama is really talking about is redistribution of wealth. And that is a principle of communism, NOT capitalism.

So Just Who is Sarah Palin?
I'll set out to answer just a few of those questions and express why I am so excited to see her on the Republican ticket for President of the United States and why I think she's a brilliant candidate for Vice President.-- Sarah Palin, mother of five, began her political career as a two-term city council member in Wasilla, Alaska.
-- In 2006, Sarah defeated a corrupt incumbent Republican governor in the primary and despite being outspent by her Democrat opponent, she won the general election by an 8 point margin, becoming Alaska's first female and youngest person ever elected Governor, immediately setting out to cut wasteful government projects and spending that burden the people.
-- Gov. Palin is a lifetime NRA member and strong proponent for 2nd Amendment rights.
-- She's an avid hunter and fisherman.
-- Palin supports increased domestic oil and natural gas production, including drilling in Alaska's National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).
-- When Alaska began to accumulate a windfall surplus from high oil/gasoline prices, she passed this surplus along to the people of Alaska to the tune of $1,200 per taxpayer, while many politicians of lesser caliber would simply have found a way to squander said surplus.
-- Palin's oldest son is an infantry Soldier in the U.S. Army, preparing to deploy to Iraq (compare to Joe Biden's son who is a special interest lobbyist in Washington, D.C.)
-- Sarah opposes gay marriage and firmly believes that marriage can only truly exist between a man and a woman, in both God's eyes and the eyes of the law.
-- She has the Executive experience that both Barack Obama and Joe Biden lack.
-- She is not hypnotized by the utter myth of "global warming."
-- Young, energetic and intelligent, Palin rightly believe that America's leaders are elected to serve The People, not the other way around.
-- And finally, as Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin has enjoyed a 90% approval rating, which speaks volumes to me.
I could go on, but this entry is getting more lengthy than I'd like. I invite you to do some research and discover for yourself why Sarah Palin is the right choice for Vice President and why the McCain/Palin team is right for this country. I close in saying that while I have warmed up to John McCain in recent months, his choice in Gov. Palin for running mate has really got me fired up. Her intelligence, tenacity, appeal and strong, conservative record make her a great asset to McCain. And I finally, truly believe that with her by his side, John McCain will defeat "The Messiah" and become the next President of the United States.

Sorry Folks...
I just couldn't do it. I tried watching The Messiah's speech tonight accepting the Democrat nomination for President of the United States. I laughed to myself when I saw him surrounded by Greek style pillars and columns, reminiscent of the God-like status bestowed upon him by himself and his followers.
But alas, that was about as far as I could get. I just couldn't stomach the snake-oil BULLSHIT spewing out of Barack Obama's mouth. I'm sure you'll get plenty of juicy tidbits from FoxNews and the internet and I'm sure there are many bloggers out there who had the courage and strong stomach that I lacked tonight.

Reality Check
Barack Obama can no longer tout himself as the candidate of "change." At least, not with a straight face. "The One" has chosen Joe Biden to be his running mate. Senator Joe Biden of Delaware is the epitome of career politician. Elected to the Senate in 1972 at the age of 29, Biden is an arrogant, condescending, mean-spirited, dyed-in-the-wool liberal. His son is a prominent Washington lobbyist. So much for Obama's idea of "change" in Washington.
Aside from the fact that Biden has significantly more experience than Obama, his selection for the Vice Presidential nomination presents Obama with numerous problems. Biden voted to authorize the Iraq War (OOPS). Biden does little to help Obama gain favor with women voters. Biden has poor name recognition; in fact, he finished FIFTH in the Iowa Caucus with only a few thousand votes earlier this year, resulting in him being the first Democrat candidate to drop out of the Presidential race. Finally, Biden's selection will prove to be yet another slap in the face of Hillary Clinton supporters who continue to struggle with warming up to Barack Obama.

That's a statement I completely agree with, but would putting two die-hard liberals who promote the same, tired, Marxist policies really constitute total change?

Outrage in the Nation's Capital
Despite the landmark Supreme Court ruling earlier this summer, confirming the individual right to keep and bear arms under the 2nd Amendment, Washington, D.C. continues to defy the law of the land. The District has enacted "emergency legislation laws" in blatant disregard for the Supreme Court's ruling and continues to unlawfully reject the pistol permit applications of its residents. In fact, since the Court's ruling, of the 400 pistol applications submitted, only 16 have been granted!
Further evidence shows that the District has made the simple act of applying for a pistol permit extremely difficult, in an apparent attempt to discourage applicants. Applicants are forced to jump through hoops such as multiple visits to police headquarters, passing a written test on D.C. handgun laws and submitting their pistol for "ballistic fingerprinting" only to have their application rejected anyway. Here's the kicker, unless a D.C. resident already has a pistol permit, he/she CANNOT legally transport his/her pistol to law enforcement for ballistic testing. Washington, D.C. continues to refuse its residents the basic human right to self-defense. The gang-bangers, thugs, rapists and armed robbers must be laughing their ass off since these draconian rules do not apply to them. They continue to use firearms to commit their heinous crimes while law-abiding citizens are being told to pay massive fees and jump through dozens of hoops merely to apply for their RIGHT to own a functioning firearm for personal protection.
Thankfully, a bi-partisan effort to alleviate this fascism is underway in the U.S. Congress and shockingly enough, it has the support of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has promised to put the bill up for a vote. The Second Amendment Enforcement Act (H.R. 6691) will repeal the District's ban on semi-automatic pistols. Semi-automatic pistols have been the most popular and commonly purchased handguns in the United States for the last 20 years. D.C. continues to ban semi-automatic handguns despite the Supreme Court ruling that said ban is unconstitutional.

Further evidence shows that the District has made the simple act of applying for a pistol permit extremely difficult, in an apparent attempt to discourage applicants. Applicants are forced to jump through hoops such as multiple visits to police headquarters, passing a written test on D.C. handgun laws and submitting their pistol for "ballistic fingerprinting" only to have their application rejected anyway. Here's the kicker, unless a D.C. resident already has a pistol permit, he/she CANNOT legally transport his/her pistol to law enforcement for ballistic testing. Washington, D.C. continues to refuse its residents the basic human right to self-defense. The gang-bangers, thugs, rapists and armed robbers must be laughing their ass off since these draconian rules do not apply to them. They continue to use firearms to commit their heinous crimes while law-abiding citizens are being told to pay massive fees and jump through dozens of hoops merely to apply for their RIGHT to own a functioning firearm for personal protection.
Thankfully, a bi-partisan effort to alleviate this fascism is underway in the U.S. Congress and shockingly enough, it has the support of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has promised to put the bill up for a vote. The Second Amendment Enforcement Act (H.R. 6691) will repeal the District's ban on semi-automatic pistols. Semi-automatic pistols have been the most popular and commonly purchased handguns in the United States for the last 20 years. D.C. continues to ban semi-automatic handguns despite the Supreme Court ruling that said ban is unconstitutional.

My Thoughts
In case any of you missed it, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama sqaured off Saturday night. But they didn't square off against each other, they squared off with Pastor Rick Warren, author of "The Purpose Driven Life." The discussion was held at Pastor Warren's Saddleback Church in California. Pastor Warren asked both candidates the exact same questions. The candidates were separated and were unable to hear one another's answers.
While I didn't watch both interviews in their entirety, I'd like to share some of my thoughts based on what I did see.
First of all, Barack Obama struck me as just plain flat-footed. He failed to make eye contact with Pastor Warren. Answering unscripted questions seemed to throw Obama off guard. He lacked engagement with the audience. His answers were unbelievably vague and philosophical in tone, lacking specificity. Obama was painfully boring to listen to and his answers fell far short of providing any real answers for positive "CHANGE." Obama seemed distant and disconnected; perhaps because, for once in his life, he wasn't surrounded by thousands of his screaming, fainting fanatics. I must admit though, I did find myself chuckling when Pastor Warren asked Obama what he thought his greatest moral failure was up to this point in his life. Obama talked about his past drug use and how he USED TO think only about himself. About how he USED TO be self-centered and arrogant. I guess some things just never change.
On the other hand, Senator John McCain appeared confident and comfortable. He made respectful eye contact with Pastor Warren. McCain engaged the audience and directed his answers at them as well as Warren. McCain smiled, joked and poked a little fun at himself. His answers were specific, direct and to the point and came quickly. The audience responded well to Senator McCain and his ability to connect with them. In my humble opinion, McCain came across like I knew he would... the most experienced candidate for the Presidency of the United States.
Saturday night's forum at the Saddleback Church revealed a lot about our two candidates for President. With the comfort zone of the political stump removed, we got to see the two men for who they really are. Barack Obama revealed himself once again as a vague, inexperienced new kid on the block, while Senator McCain proved himself to be the right man for the job, showing strength, poise, wisdom and experience.
Being the die-hard conservative I am, I've certainly had my issues with Senator McCain over the years. It's not hard to say that I disagree with him on more than a few political issues. Having said that, John McCain has earned my respect since becoming the Republican Presidential nominee. His positions on taxes, wasteful government spending, off-shore oil drilling, expanding nuclear power and the 2nd Amendment are just a few of the reasons I am now happy to support him for President. I hope more Americans were able to see through Obama's smokescreen for the fake he really is. And I hope more Americans were able to see why John McCain should be America's next President.

Congresswoman Nacy Pelosi -- Holding Americans Hostage to High Gasoline Prices
This is Nancy Pelosi. San Francisco Democrat congresswoman, first female Speaker of the House and one of the most powerful politicians in Washington. In fact, as Speaker of the House, she is third in the line of succession to the Presidency of the United States. She's smiling because she wields a LOT of power. And she loves every bit of it.
While the President has lifted the Executive ban on increased oil production along America's coastal waters, Speaker Pelosi has flat refused to even allow for a vote to lift a similar congressional ban. In fact, Congress is set to begin yet another one of its month-long "recesses" on August 9th. So while the citizens of this country struggle with $4.00 per gallon gasoline prices and massive price hikes on home utility costs, food and services, Nancy Pelosi and her counterpart in the Senate, Harry Reid, ignore the pain we are all feeling in our wallets. In her quest to flex her congressional muscle over President Bush, Nancy Pelosi, drunk with power, is outright ignoring the plight of the American People. Her refusal to take America's energy crisis seriously and her refusal to listen to the will of The People continues to put this nation at risk.
And so we're staring down the barrel of $4.00 gasoline prices for at least the remainder of the summer. And our so-called "congressional leadership" does NOTHING.
Consider this...18 months ago when the Congress was controlled by the Republican Party, consumer confidence was high. Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon and the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
Since the Democrats have taken control of Congress, we've seen consumer confidence plummet. The national average for a gallon of gasoline is around $4.00 and we've seen unemployment levels rise to 5%. Morale in this country also seems to be plummeting.
For Nancy Pelosi to do nothing about America's energy crisis is not only irresponsible, but it's borderline criminal. In typical, liberal obstructionist fashion, Democrats argue that oil drilling in America's coastal waters would take years to have any positive effect on U.S. fuel costs. Well then it's really quite simple... we'd better stop pussy-footing around and get to it! For Congress to take the rest of the summer OFF, while Americans continue to hurt, is downright disgusting and shameful. Polls have shown that the vast majority of Americans support increased domestic oil drilling. Speaker Pelosi had better start listening!

Germans Reject Obama's Latest Act of Vanity, Arrogance
Barack Obama wants to speak at the Brandenburg Gate.
He figures it would provide a nice backdrop for him to prop up his foreign policy "credentials." A cheering audience and a few fainting Germans would be provided, of course.
What Obama clearly fails to understand is that the Brandenburg Gate is Germany's equivalent of America's Statue of Liberty. It is not to be used as a campaign speech prop. The Gate is something you earn. President Reagan earned the right to speak there because his relentless pressure had brought the Soviet empire to its knees, ultimately freeing East Germany from communist rule. This is where President Reagan gave his "Tear Down This Wall" speech, demanding that Soviet Premiere Mikhail Gorbachev allow Germany to re-unite as a free, sovereign nation. John F. Kennedy spoke at the Brandenburg Gate on the day of his "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech. He was representing a country that was prepared to engage in nuclear war to defend Berlin.
The Brandenburg Gate has a long, rich history. When the Nazis ascended to power, they used the Gate as their symbol. The Gate was one of few structures left standing in the Pariser Platz at the end of World War II. Then in 1961, the Berlin Wall was erected just west of the Gate. The Wall and its fortified "death strip" cut off access from West Berlin and rendering it off limits to East Berliners. Since East Germany's liberation in 1989, the Gate has come to represent freedom, unity and liberty to all of Germany.
So Barack Obama's "audacity" is akin to a foreign politician traveling to the United States and demanding the use of the Statue of Liberty as a backdrop for a campaign speech. Americans, along with the rest of the world, are beginning to notice Barack Obama's elevated opinion of himself. It should be noted, the Germans have rejected Obama's latest act of vanity and nudged him to find a different venue for his speech.
Barack Obama fails to see himself for what he is... a three-year senator without a single important legislative achievement to his credit, a former Illinois state senator who voted "present" nearly 130 times. Obama's most memorable written work is a biography of his favorite subject... himself!

Supreme Court Strikes Down Washington, D.C. Gun Ban; Confirms 2nd Amendment is an Individual Right
The U.S. Supreme Court, in an historic decision, has ruled today that the Washington, D.C. gun ban is unconstitutional. Today's ruling went even further, confirming once and for all that the 2nd Amendment does in fact guarantee the RIGHT of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms for personal protection and hunting... just as the Founding Fathers had intended!
For those not familiar with the D.C. gun ban, the district enacted a law in 1976 that banned its citizens from possessing any functional firearms. This fascist gun ban even outlawed gun ownership in an individual's home. Similar gun bans exist in New York City and Chicago, though their legality is now effectively null and void. In fact, the National Rifle Association has already announced that it will file similar lawsuits in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs and New York City.
Oddly enough, statistics prove that such bans on private firearms ownership do nothing to curb violent crime. If anyone doubts this fact, do a search on the crime statistics for the cities mentioned above. Washington, D.C. routinely ranks as the most dangerous city in the nation. Chicago and New York are not much better!
Naturally, liberal politicians in Washington are outraged by today's Supreme Court decision. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) reacted by saying, "... I believe the people of this great country will be less safe because of it." Feinstein, who is a huge supporter of fascist gun-ban legislation, is also a professional hypocrite and elitist. You see, Sen. Feinstein is known to CARRY a .38 revolver on her person for personal protection! Chicago's fascist mayor, Richard Daley, called today's judgement, "A very frightening decision."
A frightening decision? Bad guys have guns. Bad guys have always had guns and will always have guns. That's the frightening part. Only the mentally incompetent and emotionally impotent would find something frightening about law-abiding citizens having the ability and means to protect themselves from evil.
Barack Obama, in a major hypocrite moment, is trying to jump on the bandwagon of the winning team by releasing a statement suggesting that he's a big supporter of 2nd Amendment rights. He's not fooling anyone! Let's not forget, he represented the city of Chicago in the Illlinois Senate and has consistently voted AGAINST gun-owner's rights. Obama has never seen a piece of anti-gun legislation he didn't like. In 1996, when Obama first ran for office, he answered a questionnaire citing that he not only supported banning private ownership of firearms, but even the sale and manufacture of firearms for private citizens!!
Today's ruling is a HUGE victory for all law-abiding Americans, not just gun owners. For today, at least in this case, the Supreme Court has managed to uphold the Constitution the way it was written and intended.
As a conservative and constitutionalist, I am so excited by today's ruling, that I cannot help but toss aside my writer's professionalism and close by saying this to the fascist gun grabbers like Barack Obama, Brady Gun Control Inc., Hillary Clinton and Dianne Feinstein...

Just when I thought I wasn't going to have much to say about Obama, for a few weeks,at least, there he goes again, adding fuel to the fire.
In a speech he gave the other day, he went on the offensive against the Republicans, declaring that they were going to say he was young, inexperienced, and, lo and behold, he is a black man (well, that's not entirely true, but heck, he's at least one-half black, so I guess that qualifies him). So what's this sharpie Chicago politician doing? As Shelby Steele points out, Obama is a "bargainer". He's reminding all those 'ol white folks that when they vote for him, they will rid themselves of the racist label - they'll have put the burden of racism behind them. [Amazingly, as I went to post this blog, I heard that Ralph Nader stated that Obama's M.O. is to make the white man feel guilty!]
Ha! First of all, that theme is about as racist as you can get from the black man's perspective. Hey, all you crackers out there, throw away your mantle of racism and vote black! A true racist statement from the self acclaimed "great uniter".
Of course, I imagine that there are still plenty of moronic white folk across this great nation who believe they carry the burden of guilt for whatever is wrong with black people in this country, so they'll probably run out to make themselves feel better by voting for Obama to ascend to the presidency of this Republic.

Global Warming and the Price of a Gallon of Gas -- by John Coleman
You may want to give credit where credit is due to Al Gore and his global warming campaign the next time you fill your car with gasoline, because there is a direct connection between Global Warming and four dollar a gallon gas. It is shocking, but true, to learn that the entire Global Warming frenzy is based on the environmentalist’s attack on fossil fuels, particularly gasoline. All this big time science, international meetings, thick research papers, dire threats for the future; all of it, comes down to their claim that the carbon dioxide in the exhaust from your car and in the smoke stacks from our power plants is destroying the climate of planet Earth. What an amazing fraud; what a scam.
The future of our civilization lies in the balance.
That’s the battle cry of the High Priest of Global Warming Al Gore and his fellow, agenda driven disciples as they predict a calamitous outcome from anthropogenic global warming. According to Mr. Gore the polar ice caps will collapse and melt and sea levels will rise 20 feet inundating the coastal cities making 100 million of us refugees. Vice President Gore tells us numerous Pacific islands will be totally submerged and uninhabitable. He tells us global warming will disrupt the circulation of the ocean waters, dramatically changing climates, throwing the world food supply into chaos. He tells us global warming will turn hurricanes into super storms, produce droughts, wipe out the polar bears and result in bleaching of coral reefs. He tells us tropical diseases will spread to mid latitudes and heat waves will kill tens of thousands. He preaches to us that we must change our lives and eliminate fossil fuels or face the dire consequences. The future of our civilization is in the balance.
With a preacher’s zeal, Mr. Gore sets out to strike terror into us and our children and make us feel we are all complicit in the potential demise of the planet.
Here is my rebuttal.
There is no significant man made global warming. There has not been any in the past, there is none now and there is no reason to fear any in the future. The climate of Earth is changing. It has always changed. But mankind’s activities have not overwhelmed or significantly modified the natural forces.
Through all history, Earth has shifted between two basic climate regimes: ice ages and what paleoclimatologists call “Interglacial periods”. For the past 10 thousand years the Earth has been in an interglacial period. That might well be called nature’s global warming because what happens during an interglacial period is the Earth warms up, the glaciers melt and life flourishes. Clearly from our point of view, an interglacial period is greatly preferred to the deadly rigors of an ice age. Mr. Gore and his crowd would have us believe that the activities of man have overwhelmed nature during this interglacial period and are producing an unprecedented, out of control warming.
Well, it is simply not happening. Worldwide there was a significant natural warming trend in the 1980’s and 1990’s as a Solar cycle peaked with lots of sunspots and solar flares. That ended in 1998 and now the Sun has gone quiet with fewer and fewer Sun spots, and the global temperatures have gone into decline. Earth has cooled for almost ten straight years. So, I ask Al Gore, where’s the global warming?
The cooling trend is so strong that recently the head of the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change had to acknowledge it. He speculated that nature has temporarily overwhelmed mankind’s warming and it may be ten years or so before the warming returns. Oh, really. We are supposed to be in a panic about man-made global warming and the whole thing takes a ten year break because of the lack of Sun spots. If this weren’t so serious, it would be laughable.
Now allow me to talk a little about the science behind the global warming frenzy. I have dug through thousands of pages of research papers, including the voluminous documents published by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. I have worked my way through complicated math and complex theories. Here’s the bottom line: the entire global warming scientific case is based on the increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere from the use of fossil fuels. They don’t have any other issue. Carbon Dioxide, that’s it.
Hello Al Gore; Hello UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Your science is flawed; your hypothesis is wrong; your data is manipulated. And, may I add, your scare tactics are deplorable. The Earth does not have a fever. Carbon dioxide does not cause significant global warming.
The focus on atmospheric carbon dioxide grew out a study by Roger Revelle who was an esteemed scientist at the Scripps Oceanographic Institute. He took his research with him when he moved to Harvard and allowed his students to help him process the data for his paper. One of those students was Al Gore. That is where Gore got caught up in this global warming frenzy. Revelle’s paper linked the increases in carbon dioxide, CO2, in the atmosphere with warming. It labeled CO2 as a greenhouse gas.
Charles Keeling, another researcher at the Scripps Oceanographic Institute, set up a system to make continuous CO2 measurements. His graph of these increases has now become known as the Keeling Curve. When Charles Keeling died in 2005, his son David, also at Scripps, took over the measurements. Here is what the Keeling curve shows: an increase in CO2 from 315 parts per million in 1958 to 385 parts per million today, an increase of 70 parts per million or about 20 percent.
All the computer models, all of the other findings, all of the other angles of study, all come back to and are based on CO2 as a significant greenhouse gas. It is not.
Here is the deal about CO2, carbon dioxide. It is a natural component of our atmosphere. It has been there since time began. It is absorbed and emitted by the oceans. It is used by every living plant to trigger photosynthesis. Nothing would be green without it. And we humans; we create it. Every time we breathe out, we emit carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. It is not a pollutant. It is not smog. It is a naturally occurring invisible gas.
Let me illustrate. I estimate that this square in front of my face contains 100,000 molecules of atmosphere. Of those 100,000 only 38 are CO2; 38 out of a hundred thousand. That makes it a trace component. Let me ask a key question: how can this tiny trace upset the entire balance of the climate of Earth? It can’t. That’s all there is to it; it can’t.
The UN IPCC has attracted billions of dollars for the research to try to make the case that CO2 is the culprit of run-away, man-made global warming. The scientists have come up with very complex creative theories and done elaborate calculations and run computer models they say prove those theories. They present us with a concept they call radiative forcing. The research organizations and scientists who are making a career out of this theory, keep cranking out the research papers. Then the IPCC puts on big conferences at exotic places, such as the recent conference in Bali. The scientists endorse each other’s papers, they are summarized and voted on, and viola, we are told global warming is going to kill us all unless we stop burning fossil fuels.
May I stop here for a few historical notes? First, the internal combustion engine and gasoline were awful polluters when they were first invented. And, both gasoline and automobile engines continued to leave a layer of smog behind right up through the 1960’s. Then science and engineering came to the environmental rescue. Better exhaust and ignition systems, catalytic converters, fuel injectors, better engineering throughout the engine and reformulated gasoline have all contributed to a huge reduction in the exhaust emissions from today’s cars. Their goal then was to only exhaust carbon dioxide and water vapor, two gases widely accepted as natural and totally harmless. Anyone old enough to remember the pall of smog that used to hang over all our cities knows how much improvement there has been. So the environmentalists, in their battle against fossil fuels and automobiles had a very good point forty years ago, but now they have to focus almost entirely on the once harmless carbon dioxide. And, that is the rub. Carbon dioxide is not an environmental problem; they just want you now to think it is.
Numerous independent research projects have been done about the greenhouse impact from increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide. These studies have proven to my total satisfaction that CO2 is not creating a major greenhouse effect and is not causing an increase in temperatures. By the way, before his death, Roger Revelle coauthored a paper cautioning that CO2 and its greenhouse effect did not warrant extreme countermeasures.
So now it has come down to an intense campaign, orchestrated by environmentalists claiming that the burning of fossil fuels dooms the planet to run-away global warming. Ladies and Gentlemen, that is a myth.
So how has the entire global warming frenzy with all its predictions of dire consequences, become so widely believed, accepted and regarded as a real threat to planet Earth? That is the most amazing part of the story.
To start with global warming has the backing of the United Nations, a major world force. Second, it has the backing of a former Vice President and very popular political figure. Third it has the endorsement of Hollywood, and that’s enough for millions. And, fourth, the environmentalists love global warming. It is their tool to combat fossil fuels. So with the environmentalists, the UN, Gore and Hollywood touting Global Warming and predictions of doom and gloom, the media has scrambled with excitement to climb aboard. After all the media loves a crisis. From YK2 to killer bees the media just loves to tell us our lives are threatened. And the media is biased toward liberal, so it’s pre-programmed to support Al Gore and UN. CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, The LA Times, The Washington Post, the Associated Press and here in San Diego The Union Tribune are all constantly promoting the global warming crisis.
So who is going to go against all of that power? Not the politicians. So now the President of the United States, just about every Governor, most Senators and most Congress people, both of the major current candidates for President, most other elected officials on all levels of government are all riding the Al Gore Global Warming express. That is one crowded bus.
I suspect you haven’t heard it because the mass media did not report it, but I am not alone on the no man-made warming side of this issue. On May 20th, a list of the names of over thirty-one thousand scientists who refute global warming was released. Thirty-one thousand of which 9,000 are Ph.ds. Think about that. Thirty-one thousand. That dwarfs the supposed 2,500 scientists on the UN panel. In the past year, five hundred of scientists have issued public statements challenging global warming. A few more join the chorus every week. There are about 100 defectors from the UN IPCC. There was an International Conference of Climate Change Skeptics in New York in March of this year. One hundred of us gave presentations. Attendance was limited to six hundred people. Every seat was taken. There are a half dozen excellent internet sites that debunk global warming. And, thank goodness for KUSI and Michael McKinnon, its owner. He allows me to post my comments on global warming on the website KUSI.com. Following the publicity of my position form Fox News, Glen Beck on CNN, Rush Limbaugh and a host of other interviews, thousands of people come to the website and read my comments. I get hundreds of supportive emails from them. No I am not alone and the debate is not over.
In my remarks in New York I speculated that perhaps we should sue Al Gore for fraud because of his carbon credits trading scheme. That remark has caused a stir in the fringe media and on the internet. The concept is that if the media won’t give us a hearing and the other side will not debate us, perhaps we could use a Court of law to present our papers and our research and if the Judge is unbiased and understands science, we win. The media couldn't ignore that. That idea has become the basis for legal research by notable attorneys and discussion among global warming debunkers, but it’s a long way from the Court room.
I am very serious about this issue. I think stamping out the global warming scam is vital to saving our wonderful way of life.
The battle against fossil fuels has controlled policy in this country for decades. It was the environmentalist’s prime force in blocking any drilling for oil in this country and the blocking the building of any new refineries, as well. So now the shortage they created has sent gasoline prices soaring. And, it has lead to the folly of ethanol, which is also partly behind the fuel price increases; that and our restricted oil policy. The ethanol folly is also creating a food crisis throughput the world – it is behind the food price rises for all the grains, for cereals, bread, everything that relies on corn or soy or wheat, including animals that are fed corn, most processed foods that use corn oil or soybean oil or corn syrup. Food shortages or high costs have led to food riots in some third world countries and made the cost of eating out or at home budget busting for many.
So now the global warming myth actually has lead to the chaos we are now enduring with energy and food prices. We pay for it every time we fill our gas tanks. Not only is it running up gasoline prices, it has changed government policy impacting our taxes, our utility bills and the entire focus of government funding. And, now the Congress is considering a cap and trade carbon credits policy. We the citizens will pay for that, too. It all ends up in our taxes and the price of goods and services.
So the Global warming frenzy is, indeed, threatening our civilization. Not because global warming is real; it is not. But because of the all the horrible side effects of the global warming scam.
I love this civilization. I want to do my part to protect it.
If Al Gore and his global warming scare dictates the future policy of our governments, the current economic downturn could indeed become a recession, drift into a depression and our modern civilization could fall into an abyss. And it would largely be a direct result of the global warming frenzy.

Vice President Gore tells us numerous Pacific islands will be totally submerged and uninhabitable. He tells us global warming will disrupt the circulation of the ocean waters, dramatically changing climates, throwing the world food supply into chaos. He tells us global warming will turn hurricanes into super storms, produce droughts, wipe out the polar bears and result in bleaching of coral reefs. He tells us tropical diseases will spread to mid latitudes and heat waves will kill tens of thousands. He preaches to us that we must change our lives and eliminate fossil fuels or face the dire consequences. The future of our civilization is in the balance.
With a preacher’s zeal, Mr. Gore sets out to strike terror into us and our children and make us feel we are all complicit in the potential demise of the planet.
Here is my rebuttal.
There is no significant man made global warming. There has not been any in the past, there is none now and there is no reason to fear any in the future. The climate of Earth is changing. It has always changed. But mankind’s activities have not overwhelmed or significantly modified the natural forces.
Through all history, Earth has shifted between two basic climate regimes: ice ages and what paleoclimatologists call “Interglacial periods”. For the past 10 thousand years the Earth has been in an interglacial period. That might well be called nature’s global warming because what happens during an interglacial period is the Earth warms up, the glaciers melt and life flourishes. Clearly from our point of view, an interglacial period is greatly preferred to the deadly rigors of an ice age. Mr. Gore and his crowd would have us believe that the activities of man have overwhelmed nature during this interglacial period and are producing an unprecedented, out of control warming.
Well, it is simply not happening. Worldwide there was a significant natural warming trend in the 1980’s and 1990’s as a Solar cycle peaked with lots of sunspots and solar flares. That ended in 1998 and now the Sun has gone quiet with fewer and fewer Sun spots, and the global temperatures have gone into decline. Earth has cooled for almost ten straight years. So, I ask Al Gore, where’s the global warming?
The cooling trend is so strong that recently the head of the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change had to acknowledge it. He speculated that nature has temporarily overwhelmed mankind’s warming and it may be ten years or so before the warming returns. Oh, really. We are supposed to be in a panic about man-made global warming and the whole thing takes a ten year break because of the lack of Sun spots. If this weren’t so serious, it would be laughable.
Now allow me to talk a little about the science behind the global warming frenzy. I have dug through thousands of pages of research papers, including the voluminous documents published by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. I have worked my way through complicated math and complex theories. Here’s the bottom line: the entire global warming scientific case is based on the increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere from the use of fossil fuels. They don’t have any other issue. Carbon Dioxide, that’s it.
Hello Al Gore; Hello UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Your science is flawed; your hypothesis is wrong; your data is manipulated. And, may I add, your scare tactics are deplorable. The Earth does not have a fever. Carbon dioxide does not cause significant global warming.
The focus on atmospheric carbon dioxide grew out a study by Roger Revelle who was an esteemed scientist at the Scripps Oceanographic Institute. He took his research with him when he moved to Harvard and allowed his students to help him process the data for his paper. One of those students was Al Gore. "Barack Obama said that drilling for new oil in ANWAR and other sites will only mean a saving of a penny or two per gallon of gasoline. John McCain has come around to drilling for all the oil we have is okay, except for drilling in ANWAR. Could it be that all of the past months on the campaign trail has destroyed the minds of these presumptive candidates?
Let's get ANWAR out of the way - extreme low temperatures in the winter and zillions of mosquitoes and tons of muck does not a wilderness make - that is, one which is "pristine and of a high tourist and natural value".
But the main reason we should drill now is the lesson we learned, or should have learned, over three decades ago. Our positive interest in drilling in our own resources - working to become energy independent, will economically frighten OPEC nations. That happened in the latter half of the last century and will happen again. And the result of such action on our part is that the OPEC nations will drop the price of crude. After all, it worked last time, and then we stopped any movement we had towards energy independence, and it will happen again, except this time we should not be detoured in producing our own crude oil, and other energy sources, because of a drop in source price.
Of course, it now appears that our government - the Congress of the United States - and our probable president, are not really interested in such measures. Rather, it appears, certainly that under an Obama administration, there will be a desire to control the energy industry along with control of our people. Pure fascism - and in this case - liberal fascism.
Without the fortitude and the guts which have made this country the great nation it has been, we're going to end up like too many others - a weak citizenry with an overpowering government."

Wow! This has to be one of the most idiot statements I've ever read and only further proves my belief that so many sick people of the liberal left think of Barack Obama as the next Messiah.
In her 232 year history, the United States of America has sacrificed the lives of countless numbers of her sons and daughters to free the oppressed, donated more money and food aid to the world's hungry and impoverished people than all other nations combined and done more for world security and peace than any other country. Yet, at least according to Jesse Jackson Jr., this all pales in comparison to Barack Obama's nomination for President of the United States.
Could just one of my readers please explain to me how the presidential nomination of a Marxist, black man justifies re-writing the Bible? Could someone please explain to me what Barack Obama has done that would warrant placing his name in history alongside the greatness and sacrifice of the likes of Moses, Mary, and Our Lord Jesus Christ and his disciples?

Is Barack Obama the Messiah?
Before we answer that question, let me vent for a moment. In 2000 I was cruelly denied the Pulitzer despite being the only columnist in America to ask the pressing question: Is Al Gore an alien? The evidence was there for all to see. He was born nine months after the mysterious alien sighting at Roswell, N.M. His weird syntax and verbal rhythms are otherworldly. He often refers to "earth" or "this planet" as if he's just passing through, and he once angrily complained to the Washington Post that it had printed a picture of the earth from outer space "upside down."
There is no "upside down" in space-unless Gore had his childhood view in mind.
At least I'm not in the wilderness this time. Lots of people have pondered the possibility that Barack is our Divine Redeemer. Self-help guru Deepak Chopra dubs Obama "a quantum leap in American consciousness," while prominent "leadership coach" Eve Konstantine assures us that, "He's our product out of the all-knowing quantum field of intelligence."
Obama willing, I will never be stuck next to these people on a plane.
Michelle Obama is arguably Obamanity's greatest evangelist, even though she has a streak of Old Testament smiting and wrath to her. She insists her husband has redeemed the entire nation (hence her newfound pride in America). She proclaims her husband is the sort of leader who will fix our broken souls. But don't hope for grace on the cheap. "The change Barack is talking about is hard," she insists, "so don't get too excited, because Barack is going to demand that you, too, be different."
Those of you who thought we had a Second Amendment to keep government from fixing your soul are so 20th century. Evolve already.
And then there's the Gospel according to Obama himself. In January, he told Dartmouth students that they will know to vote for him because "...a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany, and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Barack."
When asked in an interview what sin is, Obama defined it as "Being out of alignment with my values." Apparently, the editor failed to capitalize the "M" in "My."
But such mistakes can be forgiven, for Hillary has been cast out and the nomination is nigh. So we can get cracking on fixing America-and ourselves.
"I am absolutely certain," Obama proclaimed in his victory speech, "that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs for the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal. This was the moment-this was the time-when we came together to remake this great nation..."
Now, if you're under the mistaken impression that sick people had some care, or that a few jobs were to be found prior to June 2008, or that maybe-just maybe-the oceans don't rise and fall with the election returns, or that America itself doesn't need "remaking," you're not one of the "ones we've been waiting for."
But you might be one of the ones Al Gore has been waiting for. You'd understand if you realized "Earth in the Balance" is a cookbook.

Memorial Day

A real star, the kind who haunts my memory night and day, is the U.S. soldier in Baghdad who saw a little girl playing with a piece of unexploded ordnance on a street near where he was guarding a station. He pushed her aside and threw himself on it just as it exploded. He left a family desolate in California and a little girl alive in Baghdad. The stars who deserve media attention are not the ones who have lavish weddings on TV but the ones who patrol the streets of Mosul even after two of their buddies were murdered and their bodies battered and stripped for the sin of trying to protect Iraqis from terrorists. We put couples with incomes of $100 million a year on the covers of our magazines. The noncoms and officers who barely scrape by on military pay but stand on guard in Afghanistan and Iraq and on ships and in submarines and near the Arctic Circle are anonymous as they live and die."

Obama's Connection to Domestic Terrorism -- William Ayers & The Weather Underground
William Ayers is a radical, left-wing, anti-American terrorist responsible for numerous bombings including the N.Y. City police headquarters in 1970, the U.S. Capitol in 1971 and the Pentagon in 1972. During Chicago riots in 1969, members of his organization employed guerrilla warfare tactics to attack police and civilians alike and destroy massive amounts of property to further spread their anti-American message. All told, Ayers and his organization were responsible for 30 bombings aimed at destroying U.S. security and defense infrastructure.

So why is this noteworthy? Because William Ayers (convicted terrorist) and Senator Barack Obama are very close friends. Ayers used his influence to help Obama get elected to the Illinois Senate and the two of them served alongside one another on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago. According to Obama's campaign, the two men still have a very warm, friendly relationship. The fact is, we have a candidate for President of the United States who enjoys a close friendship with a domestic terrorist who maliciously bombed specific targets and attacked innocent civilians in an attempt to spread his anti-American agenda!
Perhaps Barack Obama should change his campaign slogan from "Change" to "Partnering with terrorists can take you places." It's no wonder that Hamas, the worldwide terror organization bent on the destruction of Israel, has actively endorsed Obama for President!

Dog & Pony Show: Senators Grill Oil Company CEO's
Top executives from the five largest oil companies spent Wednesday testifying before the U.S. Senate in a hearing regarding sky-high gasoline/oil prices that continue to hit Americans hard. Hearings like this have resolved nothing in the past and they won't resolve anything now nor in the future and I'm going to explain why.
The ridiculous prices we have been paying at the pump are not due to lack of supply, but rather increased demand, particularly from large, populous nations like China and India who have been undergoing their own "industrial revolution" of sorts. Such nations are consuming more oil than ever before as they become more technological and industrial. So worldwide demand is way up. And as with any product, as demand rises, so does cost.
Wednesday's hearing was nothing more than a dog & pony show for many reasons. First, let me get right to the meat and potatoes of this article... this is an election year and we all know that NOTHING gets accomplished during election years. To make matters worse, the Democrat party controls the Congress and hopes like hell to win back the White House. So a crisis like painfully high gas prices plays right into their hands. They have yet another "cause" to demagogue. We've all heard the tough talk from Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and many more. But the fact is that our politicians, particularly the left wing, are the undeniable cause of today's gas prices.
The United States is blessed with massive oil reserves in the Gulf Coast of Florida, the Rocky Mountains and the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR). Yet we have done absolutely nothing to tap into these vast resources. And why you ask? Because of the enviro-nazis and their liberal politician puppets who have put a choke hold on American industry. Oil companies are currently forbidden to explore and drill for oil in these regions. Some argue that drilling oil in ANWR would do irreparable harm to the fragile ecological balance in that region of Alaska. The truth is, ANWR is a massive, frozen wasteland that is practically uninhabitable by any of God's creatures. Yet, the liberals on the left would have us believe it's something of a picturesque paradise like you might find in Yellowstone National Park. ANWR is a frozen, bitter- cold, hell on Earth that produces nothing, yet holds hundreds of millions of barrels of oil in its womb. And we do nothing.
The Chinese, the French and other countries have begun building oil platforms right in our backyard, off the coast of Florida. Another fine example of millions of barrels of oil, ripe for the taking, that we do nothing about while our competition reaps the rewards of our national resources. In this case, just like with ANWR, the bleeding-hearts of this nation feel drilling for oil in the Gulf Coast would inevitably result in ecological disaster. So, the United States will sit idly by while the Chinese of all people, who can't even make toys safe for children, freely and without regulation drill America's oil!
A lot of folks are wondering why OPEC doesn't just increase production to meet the high demand of today's market. President Bush even recently visited oil-rich countries in the Middle East in a vain attempt to convince an increase in oil output. But to me that's laughable. In the eyes of OPEC, why should they bow down to our wishes for increased production when America won't do her part to increase production and meet demand? It's laughable for us to expect OPEC to ease the crunch we're feeling in our wallets when we flat out refuse to help ourselves! Get the picture?
So Senators Obama, Clinton, Boxer, Leahy and the like waste American tax dollars with their smoke and mirrors "hearing." They ask questions of the oil execs like, "How much did your company make last quarter?" "What is your annual salary?" "What was your end of year bonus last year?" I say, "Who gives a damn!" What our elected officials should be asking the experts of the oil business is "What can we do to help YOU increase productivity in the United States of America?" Rather than faithfully try to find a solution to the problem, the above mentioned Senators waste valuable time and money trying to outsmart people who know a hell of a lot more than they do about the oil business.
We have no one to blame for our high gas prices but ourselves, folks. I hate to put it so bluntly, but it's true. We have tied our own hands and we are all paying for it. We have tied our hands by not building any new oil refineries in over 30 years, by not building a nuclear power plant in decades and by ignoring the VAST, natural resources within our own borders. When we sit by and allow PETA and the Sierra Club to block a new oil refinery to protect the migration route of a fruit fly, we have only ourselves to blame. Only action, not Senate hearings, will increase supply to meet today's oil demands. If we force our elected officials to untie the hands of American oil companies and let them use their resources to do what they do best, then we will see results at the pump. Until then, we remain at the mercy of countries like Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Mexico.
