Activist Iowa Judge OK's Gay Marriage!

You'd expect to be reading a story like this in the L.A. Times or New York Times. With good morals and midwestern values, one would think we were safe from such extreme liberalism here in Iowa, but that is no more. Today, Judge Robert Hanson ruled in favor of six gay/lesbian Iowa couples who sued for the right to marry in yet another stunning example of a liberal, activist judge dictating law rather than enforcing it. While the vast majority of Americans, including Iowans, oppose gay marriage, once again it is the MINORITY that is overriding the will of the people.

Iowa Democrats, including Gov. Chet Culver, are largely speaking out against today's ruling. But the fact is that they allowed this to happen with their opposition to a marriage amendment. Democrats are more interested in appeasing extreme, left-wing special interest groups rather than standing up for what is right... even if that means going against the will of the vast majority! It is time for our politicians, Republican AND Democrat, to stop caving to small groups of people with particular special interests who seek to overturn the will of the people!

It disgusts me to see the destruction these liberal activists and gays/lesbians are imparting upon our society and its values! This state and this nation belong to the PEOPLE... not activist judges and special interest groups who insist on trying to swim upstream and force the rest of us down their path!

Thank God For Bureaucrats

MESA, Ariz. (AP) - School officials suspended a 13-year-old boy for sketching what looked like a gun, saying the action posed a threat to his classmates.

The boy's parents said the drawing was a harmless doodle and school officials overreacted.

"The school made him feel like he committed a crime. They are doing more damage than good," said the boy's mother, Paula Mosteller.The drawing did not show blood, bullets, injuries or target any human, the parents said. And the East Valley Tribune reported that the boy said he didn't intend for the picture to be a threat.

Administrators of Payne Junior High in nearby Chandler suspended the boy on Monday for five days but later reduced it to three days.

The boy's father, Ben Mosteller, said that when he went to the school to discuss his son's punishment, school officials mentioned the seriousness of the issue and talked about the massacre at Colorado's Columbine High School, where two teenagers shot and killed 12 students, a teacher and themselves in 1999. Mosteller said he was offended by the reference.



Blogger Editorial: Yet another example of liberalism and political correctness run amuck. Automobiles kill more Americans every day than firearms. I wonder what this child's punishment would have been if he had sketched his favorite muscle car!! My God, imagine the horror!

Michael Vick and the NAACP

Well, the NAACP is at it once again. The Atlanta chapter of the group that promotes ADVANTAGE not EQUALITY for black people is demanding that the NFL allow Michael Vick to continue to play professional football after his prison term. Vick recently accepted a plea deal in the federal criminal case against his dogfighting ring. He's expected to serve 12-18 months in a federal prison.

Vick, who initially denied any and all involvement in this dogfighting ring, only capitulated after three of his co-conspirators rolled over and told prosecutors that Vick was not only involved, but was the ring-leader. They also testified to having seen Vick personally hang, drown and mutilate dogs who didn't perform well in fights.

So why, according to the NAACP, should Vick be allowed to continue his NFL career? Why should the NFL reward a convicted felon with a multi-million dollar contract after his prison sentence? Simple... because he's BLACK! You see, it's not Vick's fault he violated federal law. It's not his fault he flat-out lied to his employer about charges brought against him. It's not his fault he flushed his multi-million dollar career down the toilet for an illegal gambling ring that led to the deaths of several defenseless animals. It's all because he's black and "the man" has kept him down all his life. Racism in America FORCED Vick to break the law and murder animals, so he deserves a second chance.

Cry me a river! Michael Vick has been paid MILLIONS to play a game for a living! Neither he nor the NAACP have any justification for playing the race card in this case. He's been given advantages in life that most people dream of and he threw it all away. He deserves everything he gets and I hope federal prison is a nightmare for him!

Man Enough?

Tribute to a Fallen American

Today I bore witness to a somber yet heart-warming event. It was the return of a fallen U.S. Marine to be laid to rest here in Iowa. I don't know the specifics of how or where this American hero died, nor do I know exactly where he is from. It doesn't matter. I do know that he courageously gave his life in defense of freedom and justice.

Just before the aircraft bearing the flag-draped coffin arrived, a brief rain shower fell at the airport. It was as if God himself were weeping at the loss of this brave warrior. The crisp Marine Corps honor guard rendered honors as a Navy boatswain piped him ashore for the last time. Family members cried and held each other tight. "Rolling Thunder" was on hand to escort the funeral procession away. Their powerful Harleys flying American flags were truly a sight to see. God bless them all.

Witnessing this gave me pause and brought a tear to my eye. Thank God America produces such wonderful, brave heroes who willingly sacrifice so much for our very freedom. I wish every American had seen what I saw today. Moments such as this can only force one to reflect how fortunate we are to be AMERICAN.

May God care for and comfort the families and friends who are grieving this day. And may He bless this fallen warrior and forever keep him in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Fight "Global Warming" With Taxes!!

Democrat Congressman John Dingell of Michigan announced a plan this week to fight the colossal hoax we know as "global warming" by hiking federal gasoline taxes by 50 cents per gallon and ending mortgage tax deductions on what he calls "large houses." Oddly enough, I seem to recall Democrats promising to reduce gasoline prices just prior to the mid-term elections in 2006. I guess that was just a pipe dream. Now their strategy is to simply collapse the economy for "the common good." Someone give me a bucket to puke in, please!

There can be no doubt that Democrats are chomping at the bit to significantly raise taxes on ALL AMERICANS! Gone are the days when they target only "the rich." A 50 cent tax increase on every gallon of gasoline would put a massive hurt on everyone! And these insane proposals are coming at a time when Bush is in the White House and liberals know all too well that he'd veto any such bills. Now imagine the chaos if Hillary were to be elected!! Liberal ideas such as these only confirm my belief that left-wingers won't be satisfied that we've done enough to reduce "global warming" until we're all living in hand-built log cabin homes and riding a horse and buggy again!

"Global warming" is a colossal hoax being perpetrated on the American people by left-wing nutjobs. Mankind is not a "cancer" to Earth and nature as eco-nazis would have us believe. We are but mere temporary residents of a planet that is FAR more powerful than we are!
