Americans Have NO Confidence in Democrat Congress!

http://www.galluppoll.com/content/?ci=27946

Recent Gallup polling shows that American confidence in the Democrat-controlled Congress is at an all-time historic low of only 14%. Honestly, this is not all that shocking to this author, though it is rather pathetic. This development only fulfills my personal prophecy of what would happen when the Dems swept both houses of the Congress. I suspected that once Americans had to face the daily agony of seeing the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton speaking as "America's voice", they would cringe with disgust.

Once elected House Majority Leader, Nancy Pelosi promised big, sweeping changes in Congress within the first 100 hours. She promised that Congress was going to work harder for the American people. But in fact, within those first 100 hours, she announced a day off for Congress to stay at home and watch the NCAA National Championship football game. Gee, us commoners didn't get such luxury from our employer. Soon, those 100 hours turned into 100 days and all we've seen from Pelosi and her Congress is blatant obstructionism. NOTHING significant has been accomplished since the Dems took control earlier this year. Hell, we even witnessed the Democratic Party attempt to destroy one of its own (Sen. Joe Lieberman of CT.) for straying from party lines and actually supporting the War on Terror. He subsequently won re-election as an Independent candidate. I guess the Libs didn't count on the fact that his constituents LIKE Lieberman.

Hence, we see now that the vast majority of Americans are truly ashamed and disgusted of their Congressional leadership. President Bush's approval rating, while low, is nothing compared to the obstructionist, do-nothing policies of those running the legislature. Armed with these poll numbers, I'll go out on a limb once again and forecast that the Democrats will LOSE Congressional seats in '08 and will LOSE their quest for the White House. For the Democratic Party, only some serious soul searching could prevent my prediction from coming true. Problem is, liberal Democrats don't have a damn soul to search!!

Eye-Opening Quotes

"We can't expect the American people to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism."

-- Soviet Dictator Nikita Kruschev

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist Program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

--Socialist Party Presidential Candidate Norman Thomas

These are just a few of the reasons why liberalism and left-wing politicians like Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Pelosi and Ted Kennedy frighten me so much. They are slowly, but surely, eroding our beloved freedoms and replacing them with Socialism!

If It Talks Like a Communist...

Demo-gogue presidential candidate Hillary Clinton gave a little-noticed stump speech this week that should've sent up countless red flags.

By now, all of us know about Clinton's re-warmed plans for socializing medicine, regulating healthcare services and providers and centralizing government control of about ten percent of the U.S. economy.

This week, however, Clinton went national with her classist "it takes a village" model, claiming that free-enterprise Capitalism is the root of all evil.

In a speech on "shared prosperity," she proclaimed that it's time to replace the conservative notion of an "ownership society" and economy with one based on communal responsibility and prosperity, alleging that the current system is really an "on your own" society that increases the income gap between "poor" and "rich" Americans.

Now, if Clinton is implying that individual initiative, self-reliance, responsibility and ingenuity-the very foundation of free enterprise-are the keys to creating wealth, then she is right. If she is implying that dependence upon the state and redistribution of income creates poverty, then she is right here, too-but that was not her message.

"I prefer a 'we're all in it together' society," she went on. "I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none."

In a quintessential example of Clintonista doublespeak, Hillary outlined her economic fairness doctrine: "There is no greater force for economic growth than free markets, but markets work best with rules that promote our values, protect our workers and give all people a chance to succeed. Fairness doesn't just happen. It requires the right government policies."

So, according to Ms. Clinton, free markets work best when they're constrained by the right government policies. In other words, free markets work best when they're not free.

The Difference

Fred Thompson and Hillary were walking down the street when they came to a homeless person.

The Republican, Fred Thompson, gave the homeless person his business card and told him to come to his office for a job. He then took $20 out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person.

Hillary was very impressed, so when they came to another homeless person, she decided to help. She walked over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the welfare office. She then reached into Thompson's pocket and got out $20. She kept $15 for her administrative fees and gave the homeless person $5.

Now, do you understand the difference?

Advisers Say Fred Thompson Will Run!

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0507/4243.html

This is outstanding news for America, especially for moderate and conservative Americans. The current Republican field of Presidential candidates has left conservative voters thirsting for a true "Ronald Reagan" type candidate to latch onto. Now it seems that we'll officially have that candidate in July.

While Thompson's web site and personal blog are linked to the right of this web page, I'll take a few moments to explain why I am personally so excited to see him run.

1. Fred Thompson believes in strong national defense.

2. He says what he believes and believes what he says. Thompson strongly supports ALL of the U.S. Constitution, not just bits and pieces of it.

3. He is well aware that lower taxes on ALL Americans provides economic growth and reduces the national unemployment rate.

4. Thompson inspires optimism, courage and a strong belief in the greatness of this nation. You won't hear him blaming America for terrorism and Islamo-Fascism.

5. Thompson's record is rock solid! He has never waffled on his personal beliefs or political opinion for the purpose of advancing his career.

6. Fred Thompson is a winner! He places THIRD in most national polls among conservative voters and he isn't even officially a candidate... yet!

7. Thompson doesn't kowtow for votes by inventing a fake, southern, black accent (like Hillary Clinton). He doesn't divide Americans into social classes like Obama and Edwards. Fred Thompson is a candidate for ALL Americans.

8. Finally, like Ronald Reagan and myself, Thompson believes that America is the greatest nation on Earth and he won't empathize with the enemies of freedom and liberty! America doesn't owe anyone an apology for her strength and wealth. No candidate understands these vital principles of PATRIOTISM like Fred Thompson!

The Hyphen

The hyphen,Webster's Dictionary defines
Is a symbol used to divide a compound word or single phrase
So it seems to me that when a man calls himself
An "Afro-American," a "Mexican- American," "Italian-American,"
An "Irish-American,""Jewish-American,
What he's sayin' is "I'm a divided American."

Well, we all came from other places,
Different creeds and different races,
To form a nation...to become as one
Yet look at the harm a line has done---
A simple little line,and yet
As divisive as a line can get
A crooked cross the Nazi flew,
And the Russian hammer and sickle too---
Time bombs in the lives of Man
But none of these could ever fan
The flames of hatred faster the
The Hyphen.

The Russian hammer built a wall
That locks men's hearts from freedom's call
A crooked cross flew overhead
Above twenty million tragic dead---
Among them men from this great nation,
Who died for freedom's preservation.
A hyphen is a line that's small;
It can be a bridge or a wall.
A bridge can save you lots of time;
A wall you always have to climb.
The road to liberty lies true.
The Hyphen's use is up to you.
